Gypsy was awarded the Queenie Gold Cups for its 1st place at the Mahurangi Regatta.
Winter Series
11 August 2018
Gypsy almost missed the start as a rope caught on the propeller just as we were kicking off the berth. Christian, a new crew member, jumped in the cold water and solved the problem within seconds. A warm jumper and a cold beer afterwards seemed to do the trick.

Spring Splash
21 October 2018
Grandma Vessie (84 years old), mom, Lora, Zeno and captain Mitko participated in the Spring splash regatta organized by the Mahurangi Yacht Club. Gypsy was lucky to get into a patch of light wind and race neck a neck with Scout to the finish line. She was runner-up at the finish and was awarded a nice bottle of red wine from the Matakana winery.

A family trip to Great Barrier Island
26 December 2018
An epic 5 day trip to Great Barrier Island. Started with 35 knot wind which didn’t seem to bother Gypsy. She just flew with one head sail and Reef #2 on the main. This changed to a light breeze on the following day to allow for plenty of fishing and swimming. 5 adults slept quite comfortably on the two berths, floor and cockpit.
