Gypsy Improvement 2019

Gypsy got a set of new spreaders made by Mitko from spar grade Oregon

The tips of the spreaders spent an hour submersed in wood sealer. Then the holes were fibre glassed and copper inserts were placed. The holes are most susceptible to rot and this is where they failed, leading to this repair.

All spreaders have white polyurethane tops for UV protection and varnished undersides. The photos are showing the undersides facing up.

The new top spreaders got the same treatment as the bottom spreaders.

Different fixing method for the stays though.

First time we get to see Gypsy out of the water

Lots of work to do. We g0t the chance to fix some leaks at the stem and the garboards
